Who We Are
CIPLE School is an online school that teaches Portuguese to international residents who want to live, work and study in Portugal, and who are working towards an A2 certificate. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

The Information We Collect
When you contact us or ask about a course, we collect the details you type into our form: your name, email address, phone number, country, preferred start date, the type of course you are interested in, any discount code you have and your message.
When you enrol and study with us, we also keep the information we need to run your course. This includes your contact details, your level of Portuguese, your class schedule, your attendance and progress, and the certificate we issue to you.
When you visit our website, our systems and the tools we use record technical information such as your IP address, the pages you view, the device and browser you use and the website that sent you to us. Most of this is collected through cookies.
If you write to us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and the content of your messages.
If you pay for a course through a payment provider, that provider handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We never ask you to send us your card details by email or chat.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to reply to your questions, to recommend the course that suits you and to give you a quote. We do this because you asked us to, and because it is in our interest to answer people who contact us.
We use it to enrol you, teach your classes, give you feedback and issue your certificate. We need this information to carry out our agreement with you.
We use it to keep our accounts, issue invoices and meet the legal obligations that apply to a training provider in Portugal.
We use it to keep our website safe and to prevent spam and misuse. Our form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a person, and not a robot, is sending the message.
With your permission, we use analytics and advertising cookies to understand how people use our website and to measure how well our advertising works. You can accept or refuse these cookies at any time.
We may send you news about our courses. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will do so without delay.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Some are essential for the website to work. Others help us understand how the site is used or show you relevant advertising, and we only use these once you have agreed to them in our cookie banner.
You can change your choice whenever you like by opening the cookie settings on the website. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the website may then stop working properly.
We use services from Google, including Google reCAPTCHA and Google Ads measurement tools. These services may set their own cookies, and Google explains how it uses information in its own privacy policy.
Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with people and companies that need it to help us run our school, and only for that purpose.
These include our website and email providers, the video platform we use to teach live classes, our analytics and advertising partners, and professional advisers such as accountants. They may act only on our instructions and must protect your data. If it is needed to deliver our services, we may also share your details with other companies in our education group.
We may also disclose information if the law or a public authority requires us to do so.
Transfers Outside the European Economic Area
Some of the companies we work with, such as Google and our video platform, may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area. When this happens, we make sure your data is protected by appropriate safeguards, for example an adequacy decision by the European Commission or standard contractual clauses.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the reasons described in this policy. We keep enquiries until we have answered you, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you have further questions. We keep student and accounting records for as long as Portuguese law requires. When we no longer need your information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data. Our website uses a secure connection, access to your information is limited to the people who need it, and we ask our providers to keep it safe. No system is completely secure, so if you think your data has been put at risk, please tell us straight away.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to know what data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to limit how we use it, to give you a copy in a format you can reuse, and to object to some kinds of use, including marketing. If we use your data because you agreed, you can withdraw that agreement at any time.
To use any of these rights, write to info@cipleschool.com. We will answer within one month, and we may ask you to confirm who you are before we act.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt. We would always like the chance to put things right first, so please contact us if you have a concern.
Children
Our courses are designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when our services or the law change. When we do, we will publish the new version on this page and change the date at the top. We encourage you to look at it now and then.
